The original varnish is superb as you would expect from Payne

inked as a 7 weight line but casts a 6 weight much better

and about half the color remains

Good used condition with some normal cosmetic wear throughout, including some rim rash and a few minor scratches to the side plates. No major issues of note. The reel weighs 6. 1 ounces on my scale. Unventilated black anodized side plates and the frame and spool are black anodized as well. The serpentine handle and counterbalance, and the bogdan nameplate and oilport on the backplate
