Producer and Ace of Hearts label boss Rick Harte (a major figure on the Boston Rock scene from the late ‘70s and beyond) nails the band’s sound (the raunchy twang of Felice’s guitar sounds is instantly recognisable) and adds some neat touches
but that trio stuck out like sore cocks in their respective eras
culminating in an orchestrated mini-rock opera ("Brown Shoes Don't Make It") whose musical style shifts every few lines
but also brings a hint of Jean-Michel Jarre or even a certain reminiscence of the early electronic experiments by Franco Battiatoand is a good contender to be filed along other Wah Wah reissues like those of Roberto Cacciapaglia or Franco Leprino
But this slice of Stockholm-via-Berlin pop deserves to be enjoyed widely
BREMEN - s/t 2LP punk Producer and Ace of HeartsHighly recommended. Bremen finds two luminaries of the Swedish punk underground, Jonas Tiljander (Brainbombs) and Lanchy Orre (Totalitr, Brainbombs, Teenage Graves, etc), coming together to explore the dark side of kraut and progressive rock, early electronic and drone music, whilst also invoking the fathomlessly bleak interior landscapes conjured by Nico Cale on The Marble Index and Desertshore.
