The General Service Medal 1962 - 2007 is commonly known as the Campaign Service Medal 1962 as was awarded with a minimum of one campaign clasp (in the instance 'Malay Peninsula') and it is believed that a maximum of six clasp have been awarded on one medal

Many of the awards from this period have their citations classified as they were made for acts in Northern Ireland or to Special Forces, the names of all recipients have however been published in the London Gazette. No bars have been awarded to the EIIR issue, although bars were announced by the Queen these were second awards to holders of a GVI DCM.
