What Do NHS Guidelines Say About Wegovy
If a patient has Type 2 Diabetes, they generally need to fail other diabetes medications before being covered for Semaglutide (Ozempic) or Tirzepatide (Mounjaro)
Zepbound is not recommended in patients with severe gastrointestinal disease, including severe gastroparesis
Deviating from the weekly schedule risks reduced effectiveness or increased side effects and is not supported by clinical evidence or FDA guidance
It was enough of an issue that 17% of trial participants dropped out
Long-Term Outcome Benefits: Similar to findings from the CORE diabetes model on liraglutide, semaglutide offers the potential for lower cardiovascular risk, reduced incidence of diabetes-related complications, and improved long-term survival (16)(17)
