It is traditionally made using the column still method. In contrast to distilling in a pot still, the entire mash is continuously distilled in one go, which gives the distillate a lighter character. The focus here is on harmony and a round mouthfeel, which is why the Gran Reserva Familiar is aged in American white oak and Spanish first fill sherry casks for fourteen years after
