It wasn't until 1967 that a second distillery was built directly next to the old, aging one. For a time, the distilleries produced in parallel as Clynelish A and Clynelish B. After a brief closure of the old distillery, both distilleries were restarted a short time later. The old one was given the name Brora, the new one remained Clynelish. In 1983, the old Brora Distillery was finally closed.
