Bereits 1717 soll hier illegal Whisky gebrannt worden sein. Die heutige Destillerie stammt aus dem Jahre 1775. Die Brennerei produziert sowohl rauchigen, als auch nicht rauchigen Single Malt Whisky und ist darber hinaus weltweit bekannt als "Home of the Famous Grouse". Glenturret ist auch bekannt wegen Towser der Hauskatze, die es bis ins Guinness Buch der Rekorde schaffte: Sie erreichte
