Ruth Matthews created many of the clothes Pat Nixon wore during her husband's campaign for the presidency. Eve Arden, Mrs Jack Warner (President of Warner Brothers) and Doris Duke were also regular customers. Her clothes were sold only in her own four shops called Matthews in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive, Palm Springs, New York and Chicago. Prices of coats ranged from $169 to 5700, of suits from $195 to $795.
