It rewards you with temporary 3/1 Elementals equal to how many auras and equipment you have attached to it
Pikachu ex decks tend to focus on filling up their Bench, and with Electrode having a solid 70 damage for two Energy, it's not too difficult to make this card work
One of my favorites being a zombie card called Relentless Dead which lets you return it to your hand when it dies for one mana, and then return another zombie of your choice directly to the battlefield

(Quick answer: 42 + Sol Ring for a 2-mana Commander, 38 + Sol Ring and 9 other rocks for a 6-mana Commander.) He also considered an assumed curve, with a set number of 2-, 3-, and 4- drops and the like
They seem to generally give you a good return on your mana investment, but also aren't the types of open-ended cards that can bust a game wide open
