The problem with evolution cards is a rule that's been there since the beginning of the game: Pokmon cannot evolve on the first turn they are played

When you cast a spell with the MTG Cascade keyword, you exile cards from the top of your library until you hit a spell with a lower mana value

The fact that it only casts creatures and doesnt work on abilities makes it way more limited than it reads

But today, we can cheat this into play by blinking the morph, or with abilities from legends like Kaust, Eyes of the Glade or Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods
