Most cards like these only hit creatures, or nonland cards at most
The Final Fantasy and Magic: The Gathering crossover cards were a great fit for the TCG, and it could set up other JRPG series like Persona to follow

You can just lay out your deck and scan it all at once, plus whichever cards are sitting in your sideboard
There is a bit to track with the wide range of counters you might use, but some colored dice do nicely to differentiate the counters
The Rats felt off to some and didn't play well with many Rats of yesteryear
