You could make this deck work with the Poipole line, the Ekans line, the Alolan Grimer line (with the Promo A-Grimer card), or the Koffing line with a bit of tweaking, as long as youre running Nihilego and you can Poison your opponent
Senior game designer Daniel Holt explained that the decision to have each deck themed around one game allowed the team to "dive deep into the lore of each, capturing even more beloved moments from across the games storyline." When asked exactly how Wizards of the Coast came to choose the games that would be included in the crossover (I'm slightly disappointed Final Fantasy 9 didn't make the cut), Holt explained that Final Fantasy 7 and 14 were the clear picks due to their popularity, but that Final Fantasy 6 and 10 were chosen partially due to how many fans of those games were among the Wizards of the Coast team
