I purchased the piece at an wonderful estate sale that included a number of fine woven textiles as well as an eclectic collection of notable modern and contemporary art and design objects from around the world

I love it because I like to think Eugene was applying his Froebel kindergarten paper folding skills to making it (the paper from which it was made certainly suggests that was so)

with a hole for hanging from the wall if one wishes--by bolted posts that all for rotating them around into different positions as desired

Staffordshire Transferware Loving Cup tall lidded copper box I purchased the piece atSome things photograph well and some things are vastly reduced in translation a good part of the beauty of this c. 1830s Staffordshire "loving cup" is its grand scale, more the size of a trophy than a mug and indeed loving cups (two handled, typically oversized vessels) were are often awarded to victors of competitions (well suited for lifting overhead!). I of course am partial to the "loving" aspect a cup to be shared by two, taking turns, one handle
