I'd guess it dates to the late 19th or early 20th but am not entirely certain

and a sculptural piece of what I think is likely pink Jadeite

though the best detail also shows a stray bit of fiber to the left of the crack--not a flaw

Beautifully Worn Old Leather Box antique bronze I'd guess it dates toThis old box would feel right at home in a library or study filled with old books, leather club chairs and maybe a fireplace ( wafting cigar smoke, too!) I'd guess it might have been made as a card box (I believe two decks would fit inside), but would be good for all sorts of things. The leather is wonderfully worn to a warm dark brown and it just has a great feeling to it. The leather hinge connecting the lid to base on the back side is mostly split
