I have not touched it as its got a nice patina

which I am guessing indicates this was either painted at or previously owned by Wellesley College

and a vehicle for the use of lots of gold

to develop

and the beautifully jointed back corners

I'd guess the hooks were meant to hold keys or such, but they do easily screw out should one want to rid this piece of function. Some fraying to the thin fabric, so this is a bit delicate, but in solid shape structurally,
