which I believe are German (the torn bottom left corner of the box I would guess says Hamburg)

I really really love the lines of this old carved toy gun

which cites it as 18th century American

8 1/4" x 5 15/16" and in very good condition

I've actually found a few other examples of leather wallets (I think actually cigarette cases) with hand-tooled and hand drawn designs on their fronts

But, really, what more does one need than an "I"??! Independent, individual, iconic! And of course a bold, gilded "I", with some American red and blue to boot, seems to pretty much perfectly describe this era; me me me! 8" t x 3 1 2" w x 1 7 8" d.
