My inspiration for this piece came from a visit to the famous Ballintoy harbour just as Covid lockdown was coming to an end

As I walked around the harbour these rock pools caught my eye with the earthy tones of the rocks and reflections contrasting beautifully with the blue and turquoise colours of the still water

The path is affectionally known locally as the ‘Nun’s walk’ because you pass the Dominican Convent

In this piece I wanted to convey Ireland's ever changing weather by painting a dark, stormy sky contrasting with dramatic sunlight hitting the sand dunes. The addition of two figures walking against the blustery wind add further interest to the foreground and remind me of my many enjoyable walks on this beautiful
