Her hobby of studying flowers and her wish to paint combined. She painted only from living specimens, aiming at complete botanical accuracy using gouache and watercolour in conjunction. In 1956, Watson won the Grenfell Medal at the Royal Horticultural Society Show with a series of 100 wildflowers from the Holy Land, and several of them were reproduced by
