Silver Painted Old STRING Tin (with twine inside) large inuit sculpture but overall very good conditionI'm not quite sure when this tin was painted silver and labeled with tall thin hand painted white letters reading "string," but it looks as if a good many years ago, and certainly seems product of a great depression sensibility, when string saving became a habit. The paper label still stretched across the bottom of the tin suggests it's quite an old one, I believe a tobacco tin. Found in Maine, with twine and a pencil inside, as seems just right. A
