I think this old catcher's mitt is such a gorgeous sculptural object

There are a couple of minor splits in the wood on the top/lid and one split in the top interior tray

Though difficult to photograph, it's just a completely lovely thing, and while it would be nice to have a whole set, having one just for yourself makes it all the more special. Definitely it is handblown Italian Murano, and in addition to the white ribbons (Lattacino), the handle and base of the cup feature what looks like gold leaf
