Description

The base measures 5 3/4" across

I'd long been admiring both the forms and color on early croquet posts

Each measures approximately 7 1/2" wide x 1 3/4" tall x 3/8" at thickest

5 1/4" tall x 7 7/8" wide x 1 1/4" deep

which is just slightly concave

Snapshot of Charles-Albert Despiau's Little Peasant Girl Bust with Fingerprints (Presumed Captured on Vitrine Glass) sail boat The base measures 5 3/4"I do believe this old snapshot is my favorite find of the week another in which multiple dimensions of time and portraiture converge. The head pictured is a sculpture by Charles Albert Despiau (French, 1874 1946), an assistant to Rodin in addition to a well recognized sculptor himself. There are several versions of this "Little Peasant Girl" including a plaster model now in the collection of the Met, and a bronze (this one I believe) at least once
