looking almost as if coated in tar and with the salvaged core peeking out here and there

19th Century Nicely Awkward Botanical Watercolor writing slope 1960s I believeI believe this one was done by the same young girl as the miniature watercolor of two women I just listed, and has a similar warmth about it. At the very bottom, in very faint pencil, looks to be the same of the plant depicted, but I can't quite make it out. I really like it for its awkwardness, with this tiny, tight yellow bloom just floating in space, and the pink flowers on their stem floating, too, over this large brown leaf I guess it is a leaf,
