where I could regularly pick it up to admire it

as if they are old friends and this happens everyday

I jumped on this unusual box the second I saw it (which photos don't do justice)

Elegant Inuit Black Stone Carved Owl Karin og Aase ceramic which feels a little bitI'm sure this Inuit carving, with its crooked beak, represents an owl, but is a fairly unusual one from what I've found in its minimalism, feeling quite like a modernist sculpture. Very striking I think, with a really strong presence. 4 3 4 t x 5 1 4 long measured on the square; 1 lb 6 oz. Signed (incised) in syllabics with a disc number on the underside. Very good condition, with a few flaws in the stone, which appear native to it.
