Antique Pennsylvania Folk Art Mirror with Painted Bird cat story I personally especially like them

I personally especially like them displayed with the legs turned all the way around

and the binding is a bit fragile but it is holding together more or less ok and the writing throughout is dark and clear

but among the obvious ones are the compass and square

The bottom still has its red felt attached

The carved and polychromed bird veers just a hair to one side (which seems to be how it was made) and shows paint loss in a couple of spots, and the mirror is all kinds of aged all of which adds up to a thing with, to my eye, a whole lot of charm and personality. I know this was found in Pennsylvania and looks Pennsylvania German to me.
