I assume this cool hand carved propeller once attached to what would have been quite a large model airplane
and the figure to his right with serenely attentive expression and arms locked gracefully behind him
which is signed with what appears to be AAConglo on the shoulder of the larger figure (possible AA are the initials of the artist and Conglo is the title of the painting
framed sized 9 3/4" x 7 1/8"
with squarish links that very much show the hand--or blade
Vintage Folk Art Oriole, Signed H. Sloan, Maine rose design I assume this cool handThis is one of six carved and painted birds I found together, all signed H. Sloan, Maine, and I believe dating to the 1980s or so. I've found a few other birds signed by Sloan out there on the internet, but haven't been able to dig up anything about him, and don't have a first name. Clearly he loved his birds, perhaps including as a vehicle for bright color, as is the the case with this charming orange Oriole. 5 3 8" long measured beak to tail; 3 3 8"
